Dear Parents, Guardians, & Students,
On February 22, 2021 ALL students will make a schedule change as we continue to reintroduce more students back into the building. The new schedule we will follow is the established schedule that we would be following in a traditional school year. The schedule is attached and whether students are in person or online, they are expected to be in their designated period/class at the time indicated on the schedule. The daily schedule will run from 8:50-3:40pm. We ask that students are dropped off to Lombard no earlier than 8:25am and picked up no later than 4:00pm
As Lombard has transitioned to a 5/6 building this year, many of our families and students are new to the building/procedures. Our staff is very understanding and we will be working with your student from the time they step in the building until they go home to be as comfortable as possible. This will include discussion about building procedures, help getting from class to class, tours of the building while they are with their homeroom teacher, etc. If this is your first time coming to Lombard, below is a link to a video that I would encourage you to watch prior to Monday to help familiarize yourself with the drop off/pick-up procedures. When students arrive on campus they will be met by staff and will be helped to their first class. Parents, we appreciate your trust as we focus on the safety of your child--per our safety plan, we will not be allowing parents/guardians to enter the building with their child(ren) when dropping them off. As things continue to get safer I look forward to the day we can invite our families and community in for an open house so all can see our amazing building and meet our awesome staff in person.
Things to note:
Signs directing students to the appropriate door will be posted in the front of Lombard off of Knox St. If you have a bus rider please check skyward family access for your pickup/drop off locations. Busing information will be available in skyward on 2/18/2021 through skyward family access. Please check this as your child’s bus may have changed.
Lunches will be offered/consumed at school. Students are also welcome to bring their own lunch. Students will be provided the opportunity at the end of each day to grab a bag with the next day's breakfast (walkers, riders, and bus riders). There will still be pickup offered at GHS from 7:30 to 8:30am for remote students.
Supplies necessary for school currently: Chromebook, Notebook/Paper, Pencils, IReady Math book, and Earbuds (if possible). We will work with any student(s) who do not have these supplies. We will not be using lockers, so students will be carrying their supplies from class to class. Students will be allowed to carry a backpack and encouraged to do so while in school at this time.
Students, Staff, and Visitors will be expected to follow these guidelines: Student and Staff Safety Protocols
If a parent or guardian needs to enter the building we ask you to do so at the main entrance off of Knox St. Once inside you will be checked in using our safety protocols.
As a reminder, all students and families are required to read the COVID-19 Procedure Agreement prior to returning to in-person instruction. Click here to access the agreement.
