On September 22, we will celebrate the birthday of Lombard’s beloved former secretary, Keisha Harris. Keisha brought so much joy, energy, and kindness to Lombard, and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate her than by spreading a little extra kindness to someone else.
This year, we are asking our Lombard community to help us support 2-year-old Rosey Miyler, who was recently diagnosed with cancer. Rosey’s family has some pretty special Lombard connections. Both of her parents are former Lombard students, and her mom, Favy, later taught many of our Zephyrs at Steele.
Favy taught in classroom B2, which inspired a message she shared with her students that feels especially fitting:
“You Can Never Be 2 Kind!”
On September 22, students and staff can make a free-will donation to wear a hat, with donations going to support Rosey and the Miyler family. We also invite everyone to wear purple, sparkles, or glitter in honor of Keisha and the joy she brought wherever she went.
We hope this is one small way our Lombard family can celebrate someone who meant so much to us while showing another family that they have a whole community cheering them on.
Honoring Keisha. Supporting Rosey. Spreading kindness.
