This week at Lombard, our students joined a social media trend where they searched for staff members who matched special description cards. While it seemed like a fun activity, it became something much more meaningful.
Students weren’t just picking random adults. They were choosing the people who make them feel safe, encouraged, valued, and seen.
The teacher who makes them smile.
The staff member who checks on them.
The adult who believes in them when they struggle.
While we were not able to include every single staff member due to time, I hope every adult in our building knows this truth: your influence reaches far beyond the classroom walls.
Our students notice the patience, encouragement, kindness, and consistency you bring each day. The impact educators make is often found in the smallest moments and those moments can change a child’s story.
At Lombard, we are grateful for the adults who continue showing up for kids each and every day.
