Students at Silas Willard Elementary School got a special guest for their morning announcements on Monday, September 8, when Principal Jodi Keever was joined by Representative Dan Swanson. Swanson's visit was part of the annual "Principal for a Day" program, which pairs state and federal legislators with local schools to help build relationships and observe daily school life.
The visit began with Swanson assisting Principal Keever with the day's morning announcements, where he welcomed students and shared important reminders.
Following the morning address, the representative received a tour of the building. Stops included the school servery, where he spoke with food service employees, and several classrooms where he interacted with students.
Swanson even stepped in to lead a spelling lesson in one class. Throughout the tour, he was greeted warmly by students, and in one classroom, he received a thank-you card for his visit.
We would like to thank Representative Swanson for taking the time to visit with the staff and students at Silas Willard Elementary School!
