Ms. Noonan (art teacher) and Mr. Bruening (Instructional Coach) have partnered to complete a "stop motion" video project with Steele's 4th and 5th graders. This unit proves to be impactful for the students as they create rough drafts, edit their work, collaborate with peers, learn new skills, and ultimately assess their own learning.
HOLIDAY HAIRCUTS! Thank you Kuu Jackson, of Kuu’s Kuts for donating your time and talents to the young men at Steele School! Kuu gave our boys stylish holiday haircuts! Thank you to Joey, Kiki and Quincy of the YMCA Solutions Program & Anthony Law of CSC for donating your time to play basketball and make crafts with the boys while they wait for their haircuts!
Secret Santa! Each morning as I walk into Steele School, I am reminded how lucky I am to work with such amazing, loving and dedicated teachers... AND, how lucky WE are to have the privilege of teaching some of the sweetest, hardest working students around! These magnificent teachers shower their students with love every. single. day. But the JOY they spread during the holiday season is unmatched. Mrs. Washabaugh (with the help of Steele Teachers) raised $1,400.00 to provide 22 students with gifts for under their trees! In true Steele fashion....the teachers fought the Black Friday lines to get as many "wish list" items as they could....followed by a fun-filled wrapping party! STEELE SCHOOL...Where I Belong!
Clarification for school events on Friday: We will continue the school tradition of having an all-school sing-a-long! This event is for staff and students only. The sing-a-long is not a concert or holiday program...it is simply students and staff singing along to some favorite winter songs! We love to have our families participate in our activities; unfortunately, there is not enough space in the gym to invite parents. We apologize for any confusion this may have created.

Mrs. Orellana's 4th grade Social Studies classes are learning all about the last colony of Roanoke & coming up with Their own theories based on the artifacts. I’m confident that 4th grade has quite a few future archaeologists in the making! @wearesteele #SSfun Thanks, @Scholastic for such a fun and interesting article!
